To be a Level 3 complementary therapist it is essential that you can demonstrate
competence in dealing with clients, using information for planning treatments and
providing such treatments safely and effectively.
This qualification will provide you with the skills to communicate with the client and
plan and deliver complementary therapy treatments.
You will need knowledge of
anatomy and physiology, consultation techniques and the common effects and
techniques of massage, aromatherapy and reflexology in order to provide
complementary therapy treatments.
This qualification is appropriate for learners seeking a career in the complementary
therapy industry.
Course Content - What you will learn
The Diploma consists of the following Units:
- Principles & Practice of Complementary Therapies
- Business Practice for Complementary Therapists
- Health, Safety and Hygiene for Complementary Therapists
- Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology for Complementary Therapists
- Less common Pathology for Complementary Therapists
- Body Massage for Complementary Therapists
- Reflective Practice for Body Massage
- Aromatherapy
- Reflective Practice for Aromatherapy
- Reflexology
- Reflective Practice for Reflexology
- Healthy Eating & Wellbeing for the Complementary Therapy Client
Course Entry Requirements & Pre-requisites
There are no pre-requisites for this course, however international students must be able to communicate effectively in English.
Course Duration
This Diploma can be studied full time over one year, or part
time by completing each subject separately. It is also possible
to upgrade your existing qualifications. For example a practising
Massage therapist may only need to complete the Aromatherapy
& Reflexology Diplomas to be able to gain the Complementary Therapies
Diploma.
